The 2Thrive Coaching Story
2Thrive Coaching was born out of owner and director Lesa Prendergast’s own journey to creating a fulfilling, authentic life. With an innate desire to help people and enthusiasm for educating young minds, she began her career as a teacher.
Afterwards, she pursued her passion for health by completing a Master of Health Promotion at the University of the Sunshine Coast – where Lesa raised her family.
“My purpose was to make the world a better place by educating the community in health and wellness and disease prevention.”
Moving to Sydney, Lesa worked for NSW Health to improve workplace wellbeing through curriculum development and implementing people management skills for health managers.
This showed her how a lack of understanding at a management level was impacting employee engagement, productivity and workplace mental health. Seeking to support positive change, Lesa bought a license to deliver employee engagement programs in the workplace with Engage and Grow Global.
However, results weren’t what she’d hoped for.
“I failed miserably in starting up my own business and kept going back into the workforce to earn an income.”
Lesa began to realise she needed to be the change in order to create the change she was looking for.
“In the words of the infamous Michael Jackson from his song Man in the Mirror: ‘If you want to make the world a better place,
Take a look at yourself and make the change.’”
She completed three years of training in leadership coaching and has qualifications and access to the DISC profiling tool and reports.
At 2Thrive Coaching, Lesa focuses on helping people become leaders of their own lives – and of teams or organisations, too!
She does this using DISC behaviour profiling tools which help people develop self-awareness and their ability to communicate effectively with others.
“The workplace is where we spend the majority of our time. To maintain a health and wellness focused life, this is where we need to have a sustainable program in place.
Change begins with self-awareness and what better way to make the world a better place, than by taking a look in the mirror and making the change.
As a qualified behaviour DISC profiler, and Engage and Grow coach, I have the tools to facilitate this change.”
